Employment Opportunities
Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy welcomes applicants who are inspired by the educational vision of Dorothy Sayers, whose Lost Tools of Learning is the basis of our curriculum. Our student SAT scores have consistently ranked in the top ten among the state’s 134 public school districts. By meeting all yearly progress goals(AYP), 95% proficiency in math and reading, and having high growth in 2011-2012, our school has earned the highest possible NC designation as an Honors School of Excellence. TJCA was also given honorable mention by US News and World Report as one of the nations' top high schools.
Teachers are expected to meet highly qualified requirements in their subject areas by having earned a bachelor’s degree in the subject area or passing the appropriate subject-area praxis exam. An education degree is not a prerequisite, though non-licensed teachers are expected to work towards eventual licensure. To apply, please download and mail your completed TEACHER APPLICATION FORM AND BACKGROUND CHECK.
For additional information about teaching at Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, in grades 7-12, please contact Joe Maimone, headmaster, or Jeff Ziegler, academic dean. For employment opportunities in grades k-6, contact Jason Cole, principal.
